Bildungsurlaub or as it is called in Baden-Württemberg “Bildungszeit" accreditation is a scheme in Germany which allows German employees to take up to two weeks paid leave to pursue further education. Employees can only study at institutes recognised by the German Ministry and the criteria and paperwork needed to obtain recognition is complicated and varies from state to state within Germany.
Bildunsurlaub-Approval was set up by Thomas Roth to assist language schools with this process and now he has worked with the Ministry to obtain “Bildungszeit" accreditation for all IALC schools in the state of Baden-Württemberg. Previously, in order to apply for this accreditation in the state of Baden-Württemberg, schools were required to have ISO9001 certification. Later, the Ministry has accepted quality associations like British Council, Eaquals, and France Education Qualite fle. Now IALC has been added to this list of acceptable accreditations.
How to Benefit from this accreditation
Being listed as a quality trademark by the ministry means that IALC members are now eligible to apply for Bildungszeit at the Ministry in Baden-Württemberg.
To apply for Bildungszeit approval for the first time, the Ministry requires the current IALC certificate, a syllabus, and the necessary application documents. While there is a one-time ministry fee, the application process only needs to be completed once. As long as your school remains an IALC member, you will only need to provide a valid IALC certificate to keep your approval up-to-date.
