Housed in a charming 18th-century building just steps from the water, the school offers 11 bright, air-conditioned classrooms, a student lounge, a cinema room, and free Wi-Fi. Tropea, affectionately called the “Pearl of Calabria,” is a stunning seaside town perched on dramatic cliffs overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. Known for its charming old town, vibrant local life, and crystal-clear beaches, it offers an authentic and relaxing Italian atmosphere. The school is located in the historical centre, surrounded by cafés, bars, restaurants, and shops offering local products and artisan crafts.

Tropea is rich in natural beauty, cultural traditions, and culinary delights. Students can explore markets, taste specialties like ‘nduja and fresh seafood, or take weekend trips to national parks, mountain villages, and UNESCO-listed sites such as the Aeolian Islands.

The area is safe and walkable. Through the school’s excursions, students discover southern Italy’s hidden gems and archaeological treasures from the Great Greek period, all while enjoying a warm Mediterranean lifestyle.

Exams

Piccola Università Italiana in Tropea, students can prepare for and take internationally recognized exams such as CELI (Certificato di Conoscenza della Lingua Italiana) and CILS (Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera). The school is also a certified exam centre, which means students can conveniently sit their exams directly in-house, in a familiar and supportive environment. Tailored exam preparation courses are available, focusing on the specific skills needed for each level—from grammar and vocabulary to listening, reading, and writing.
