IALC is managed by an Executive Board consisting of five elected school directors.
Supported by a professional team at the Secretariat in Canterbury, UK, and by Committees for Quality Assurance, Membership and Marketing, they oversee member recruitment, accreditation and services.
President - Giorgia Biccelli, Linguaviva
Giorgia grew up in various places around the world and attended both Italian and international schools. She has completed her studies in Germany where she obtained a M.A. Degree with honours in Romance Philology. In Milan she has worked for some years as marketing assistant for food export products in a multinational company.
In 1996 Giorgia became marketing assistant at Linguaviva, Florence. Since January 2001 she has been the director of Linguadue Italian language school in Milan, further she is marketing director for Linguaviva Group. In March 2017 she was officially appointed President of IALC.
Vice President - Quality Assurance: Kevin McNally, TIS, Torquay International School
Kevin has been involved in the language travel industry for over 25 years. For many years, he was Director and Partner in Hampstead School of English, before taking up his current role as Owner and Director of Torquay International School. Kevin has experience in almost every aspect of the industry, from academic and student services, to finances and marketing. Having been involved with IALC since 1996, he has an intimate knowledge of the history of the association.
Vice President - Membership: Florian Meierhofer, BWS Germanlingua
Florian grew up in Munich, Germany and studied Business Administration at The University of Munich.
He began his working career in international insurance but after studying in language centres in Italy and Spain, Florian was inspired to found his own German language school in Munich. Five years later, he bought another language school in Munich and merged them. Soon after he opened a second school in Berlin. Florian is committed to providing high-quality teaching, professional services and an international spirit at the BWS language schools.
Vice President - Marketing: Robin Adams, Global Village English Centres
As the son of a diplomat, Robin grew up in different countries and attended international schools in Austria and Germany. He has certificates in TEFL, a Bachelor of Arts, Honours English from the University of Victoria, Canada and a Master of Education from the University of Sheffield, England.
Robin first developed a passion for the language industry teaching in Korea and Germany and has been involved in Educational Marketing since 2001. He is currently the President and Managing Director of Global Village English Centres and looks forward to learning from and building on the successes of his predecessors at IALC. He is married with two children and his hobbies include karate, languages and travel.
Secretary / Treasurer: Stefan Adenet-Kaven, Institut Linguistique Adenet
Stefan was born and grew up in Hamburg, Germany. He studied Business Administration at the University of Hamburg, then English in Wellington/New Zealand and in London. He started his career in Marketing, in Europe's biggest publishing house, working in Hamburg and London. He ran the Circulation department and was involved in product management. In 1998, having always enjoyed languages and travel, he decided to settle down in the South of France to set up the Institut Linguistique Adenet with his associate Claudia Adenet.
His responsibilities include: supervising client satisfaction, marketing, developing the sales network via agencies, developing ideas and strategies for sales via the internet and supervising the sales, booking and accommodation departments. Stefan makes sure ILA's development goes along with highest quality of services. His hobbies are collecting and tasting wines, scuba diving, cooking, languages and travel.
Honorary Life President: Renato Borges de Sousa
Renato Borges de Sousa is a founder and former president of IALC. He was appointed Honorary Life President in 2006 for outstanding service to our association. Renato is the founder and present owner of CIAL Centro de Linguas in Lisbon and in Faro.
César Rennert is a founder and former president of IALC, who for many years also acted as official historian. He was made an honorary life member in 2013 for outstanding service to our association.
César is the founder and present owner of Rennert International and Rennert Miami South Beach.
Tom Doyle is a former vice president of IALC. Tom was instrumental in creating our current Quality Scheme and became an honorary life member in 2013 for his outstanding service to our association.
