Located in the beautiful village of Wheatley, CES Oxford is the ideal choice for students who want a break from the hustle and bustle of a large city centre and instead prefer to study in a more relaxed environment where they can sample a traditional England. Just 5 kilometres form the city centre, and with regular bus routes, this is a caring and warm learning environment. The school offers 10 lovely classrooms, a beautiful garden for relaxation, a comfortable student lounge and a fully equipped kitchen for students’ use. With a maximum of nine students per class and many high-quality homestays within walking distance, this is a place where you are truly part of a community, not just a number.

Programmes Offered
Standard General English
Our most popular programme, the Standard General English Course, you get high-quality teaching and real-life local experience. Every weekday morning you’ll take classes. In the afternoon, you can study on our CES Online e-learning platform, or you can spend afternoons on our fun-filled social programme.
Intensive General English
Our Intensive English Course is designed to help you learn English on an immersive programme that maximises classroom time with continuous focus on improving your overall communicative skills and fluency. In the UK, the lessons are from 09:30 - 13:00, Monday to Friday and 14:00 - 16:30, Tuesdays -Thursdays.
English and Culture 50+ Programme
If you are taking English language lessons a little later in life, our English Language and Culture (50’s+) Programme is ideal for you. In Oxford, you’ll study in the mornings Monday-Friday and spend afternoons on our fun-filled social programme to get a real flavour of local life and culture.
Combination Course
Transform your English language skills with a mix of group and individual lessons On our Combination Course, you’ll get the best of both worlds with high-quality teaching and real-life local experience. Every weekday morning, you’ll take classes from 09:30 - 13:00 in the UK. And for two afternoons per week, from 14:00 -16:30 you’ll get one-to-one private tuition.

You’ll feel very much at home with our homestay option. By living with a local family, you’ll be practicing your English language skills every day in the most natural environment possible – the home. We’ll match you with the best host to meet your needs where possible and all homestays are carefully selected and visited regularly to ensure consistently high standards.
- Homestay
Oxford itself needs no introduction. An iconic city, the heart of England, a seat of learning for a thousand years. The city is a mix of medieval streets and Georgian grandeur, with fabulous museums, ancient colleges and yet, surprisingly modern shopping, eating and entertainment opportunities.
The school is based in Wheatley, an authentically English village on the edge of the city, near to the cultural sights of the city but in a relaxed and traditional area where you can enjoy a real English lifestyle, far from the tourist crowd. It is a short bus trip into the city and services are regular and reliable. And it is often only a short walk to the school from your homestay, allowing you to maximise your learning.
Exams
IELTS exam preparation courses are offered in group classes year round and take place in the afternoon on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Students work on their English skills in the morning, and focus on exam technique in the afternoon.
Preparation for other exams can take place through out Combination Programme, with exam technique and strategy worked on in private one to one classes.
