St. Raphaela’s School is Emerald’s longest running international summer centre.

Emerald Cultural Institue - St. Raphaela’s School is located in the Southside of Dublin in a quiet and mature residential area, which is approximately 15 minutes by tram (or 25 minutes by bus) from the city centre.
Junior students attending a course in this centre can stay with host families in the local area. Host families are either within walking distance of the school or are only a short bus / tram journey away.

The school buildings are bright and spacious and provide excellent classroom facilities for our international students. St Raphaela’s offers students excellent opportunities to participate in our intensive programme of sports and recreational activities.

Classrooms: The classrooms in St Raphaela’s are well equipped and ideally suited to the learning needs of the student.

St Raphaela’s offers students excellent opportunities to participate in our intensive programme of sports and recreational activities. With a large multi- purpose indoor hall and extensive outdoor playing fields including soccer pitches, tennis & basketball courts, badminton hall and an all weather astro turf pitch – this is the ideal location for students who are interested in participating in sports and outdoor activities. The large hall is also available for shows, movies and musical events in the evenings.

Programmes offered

Multi-activity Programme: this programme is ideal for students who want to learn English and enjoy an interesting and varied social programme, including visits to popular cultural attractions, sports and tournaments, dance, music, drama and arts & crafts.

Intensive Course: The Intensive Course is designed for learners who wish to improve
their fluency. It offers students the opportunity to concentrate on their conversation and speaking skills. A full programme of activities is also offered.

Age Range

  • Multi-activity Course: age group 11-17 (homestay option available only from 13), all levels.
  • Intensive Course: age group 14-17. Levels from B1.

Transport passes are included for students who are required to use public transport to travel to and from school.

The Stillorgan shopping centre, multi-screen cinema, bowling alley and McDonalds are within 10 minutes walking distance of the school.

St Raphaela’s is well served by public transport including the green Luas (tram) line and a number of Dublin Bus routes, which pass nearby the school grounds.
LUAS and Bus Services: The school is within 5 minutes walk of Sandyford and Stillorgan LUAS stops and only a few minutes from the 11, 47 and 75 bus routes.
