Language Centre of Ireland announces February closure

The Language Centre of Ireland has announced its closure on 26 February 2010, citing continuing difficult economic conditions. LCI is a founding member of IALC and one of Ireland’s leading English language schools. The official LCI announcement follows:

It is with great regret that I inform you that, due to the current and projected difficult trading conditions, The Language Centre of Ireland (LCI) will close for all classes on Friday 26th February 2010.

LCI will ensure that the process of closing is carried out in an orderly way minimising the impact on our agents and students. Classes will operate as normal until that date and students will then transfer to Alpha College of English or be offered refunds.

Arrangements for current students finishing before 26th February.

Students finishing before the date of closing, the 26th February will not be affected. LCI will operate as normal until the date of closing.

Arrangements for continuing students.

Students who have already commenced classes and whose bookings carry on past the date of closure will be offered

1.The option of transferring the unexpired period of their original booking to Alpha College of English.

2.Cancellation of the remainder of their original booking and a refund by credit note from LCI through their agency. Any refunds due will be paid in the normal way.

Arrangements for students with future bookings

Students who have already booked courses to commence on or after the date of closing will be offered

1.The option of transferring their booking to Alpha College of English

2.Cancellation of their course. Where an invoice has already been sent a credit note will be issued. Any refunds due will be paid in the normal way.

Future bookings and enquiries

LCI is not taking bookings from today (date). New bookings may be directed to Alpha College of English (www.alphacollege.com) at [email protected] Contact Mr. Stephen Shortt or Mrs. Marie Shortt.

Alpha College will honour LCI tuition, accommodation and commission rates as agreed for 2010. Alpha College has a similar course and pricing structure to LCI.

Alpha College of English will work with LCI to ensure an orderly continuation for both students and agents. Alpha College of English is a high quality, agent friendly school which is recognised by ACELS and is also a member of IALC, EAQUALS and MEI. Alpha College shares our commitment to the highest standard of service.
