The Emerald Cultural Institute is an English Language School with one year-round campus in Dublin and offering an exciting range of Junior Summer Programmes in Ireland and the UK. We have 39 years of experience providing quality English language courses and professional development programmes to groups and individuals of all ages and from more than 60 different countries. We have developed a sophisticated range of courses to meet our students’ needs and students can choose whichever one of our campuses best suits their learning requirements.
Our students come from a wide variety of different cultural backgrounds and age-groups to join our English language courses in Dublin and in the UK.
Whether they need English for work, study or travel, our aim is to help them achieve their academic goals during their time with us. Every aspect of the study-abroad programme is important to us, and our dedicated team of teachers, Directors of Studies, accommodation and student welfare officers are committed to delivering the highest quality services and support to each student.
We provide a range of high-quality student accommodation in both Dublin and the UK with a choice of host families and a year-round student residence in Dublin.
All Intensive English courses (level B1 – C1) at Emerald Cultural Institute include Integrated Learning Workshops, which challenge students to develop their soft skills while continuing to improve their competency in English. We also offer a range of online course options for adult and junior students, including virtual internships, executive training and STEM.

Programmes Offered
For Adults (17+) Students of all levels benefit from interesting and challenging lessons delivered by highly qualified and experienced teachers. All of our courses provide 60-minute lessons giving maximum teacher contact time. At Emerald, the academic staff work closely with students to develop a clear study plan based on their language level and learning objectives. Throughout the programme students’ progress is closely monitored by their class teachers and by the Director of Studies.

This lively and bustling city has plenty to offer students by way of culture, visitor attractions and an excellent social scene. Dublin is a cosmopolitan city that has embraced diversity and multiculturalism and all visitors can experience a genuine Irish welcome.
Students participating in our social programme have the opportunity to explore Dublin and learn more about our rich heritage in history, music and literature. The city’s excellent museums, galleries and attractions provide visitors with opportunities to experience first-hand our Irish culture and history. Dublin is proud of its many theatres and has strong literary and musical traditions. It prides itself on being a musical city, which has produced such famous musical acts as U2 and the Dubliners.
Across the city our world-famous pubs are an important part of our culture providing students with excellent opportunities to enjoy our traditional Irish music and dancing.
With excellent transport links by train or bus, Dublin is a perfect base from which to explore the renowned scenic areas of Galway, Cork, Kerry and Donegal. Our Palmerston Park and city centre Merrion Square schools offer our students an excellent choice between two locations with unique and different characteristics.
Exams
We are specialists in preparing students for a wide range of international examinations including Cambridge ESOL, IELTS, TOEIC, TOEFL, TIE and BULATS Examinations. Our teachers are experts in preparing students for the Cambridge examinations and have a proven success record in achieving good results. We prepare students for the examination format and practise reading, writing, speaking, listening, and use of English. We offer preparation courses for Academic IELTS and our teachers are experts in preparing students to approach all sections of the text effectively, to help them achieve their target score. We are a recognised Cambridge Examination Venue and a preparation centre for Cambridge ESOL and IELTS Examinations. We are also a recognised centre for the TOEIC, TIE and Trinity Examinations.

The Emerald experience for junior students includes: 60 minute classes, maximum 15 students in each class, elementary to advanced, specially developed Emerald Curriculum focused on the needs of young learners, Emerald course certificate, stating level on completion of course, close monitoring of all students by teachers and experienced activity staff, a variety of fun visits and in-school activities to choose from, choice of homestay or residential accommodation, welcome pack with maps and student card, Activity Focus Programmes, Young Adult Programm, Multi-Activity Programme, Academic Electives focus, English + Leadership & innovation, English + Conversation & Speaking Skills, English + Trinity Walton STEM Programme. *Learn Science, Technology, Engineering and Math at Trinity College Dublin by working on hands on projects with Trinity’s teachers at Trinity’s laboratories.
