Trinity Hall is the official residence for first-year Trinity College students, located in the prestigious residential area of Dartry, Dublin. It offers a comfortable and secure environment, featuring single and twin en-suite bedrooms arranged in six-person apartments, each equipped with study facilities. Students enjoy access to modern amenities, including fully fitted kitchens, a spacious canteen, and various social and recreational areas such as TV lounges, quiet reading spaces, and games rooms. The residence also features 24-hour on-site security, CCTV coverage, and secure key card access to all apartments and bedrooms, ensuring a safe and monitored environment. Additional conveniences include an on-site shop, coin-operated laundry facilities, and 24-hour supervision by Emerald’s residential staff. Classes take place at the nearby Alexandra College campus, where students benefit from modern learning facilities and a variety of interactive educational experiences. Multi-Activity / Discover Dublin Programme
This programme is ideal for students who wish to combine learning English with a fun and diverse social programme. It includes visits to popular cultural attractions, such as museums and historic sites, alongside exciting activities like sports tournaments, dance, Irish music, drama, and arts & crafts. Students will have the opportunity to explore Dublin while improving their language skills in a dynamic, engaging environment.
Intensive Course
The Intensive Course is ideal for learners who wish to significantly improve their fluency in English. It places a strong focus on conversation and speaking skills, giving students the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in language practice. In addition to classroom learning, students can enjoy a full programme of cultural and social activities, providing further opportunities to apply their skills in real-life situations.
Young Adult Programme
Tailored for older students, the Young Adult Programme features an exciting activity programme themed “Discovering Dublin.” The course content includes Leadership & Development, English for the Workplace, and Irish Life & Culture. It offers a balanced mix of practical skills and academic learning, helping students improve both their English proficiency and their understanding of Irish culture. It’s an excellent choice for students aiming to develop both language skills and personal growth, preparing them for university life or professional careers in an international context.
Trinity Walton STEM Programme
In collaboration with the prestigious Trinity Walton Club at Trinity College Dublin, this unique programme allows students to deepen their understanding of STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths) while enhancing their English language skills. Through hands-on projects and expert-led sessions, students will gain valuable experience in these fields and improve their academic English in a stimulating, real-world context.

Trinity Hall Residence
Situated in the prestigious residential area of Dartry, Trinity Hall offers modern, comfortable accommodation. Facilities include a games area with foosball and snooker tables, a sports hall with squash, basketball, and badminton courts, quiet study and relaxation areas, and a TV room.
Dining & Meals
Students enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner in the on-site canteen, which serves a variety of hot and cold meals daily.
Laundry & Linen
A self-service launderette is available on-site. Bed linen is changed weekly and towels twice a week. Laundry detergent can be purchased at the convenience shop.

Trinity Hall Residence is ideally located just outside Dublin’s busy city centre, offering a peaceful, secure environment in the prestigious residential area of Dartry. It’s only steps away from Emerald’s headquarters and borders the beautiful Victorian Palmerston Park. The residence is easily accessible by public transport. Students can take the green LUAS tram line from Grafton Street to Milltown, which is just a short walk away, or the 140 bus from O’Connell Street to Palmerston Park. Nearby, students will find a wide range of local amenities including supermarkets, cafés, restaurants, cinemas, and pharmacies. Its convenient location combines city access with the calm of a residential neighbourhood.
Exams
Students are at the heart of what we do. Emerald offers a supportive environment for students of all ages, ensuring they feel prepared and confident throughout their learning journey. Our experienced academic team offers guidance tailored to each student’s goals, including support for exam preparation where relevant. While our junior summer programmes are not exam-focused, students benefit from continuous assessment and feedback to track progress and build confidence in their English skills. To help students and parents prepare before arrival, we host a pre-arrival webinar covering key practical and logistical information. This session also allows families and partners to ask questions and better understand what to expect during the student’s stay.
