Atlas Language School Dublin was founded in 2003. Although we started with only one classroom and one student we expanded quickly to become one of the fastest growing language schools in Ireland. Today, Atlas Language School Dublin is located in Portobello House, Dublin 2, a large, landmark building with a long and famous history. Centrally located, the school overlooks the Grand Canal in the south of the city and offers some of the best facilities in the country, including 25 bright classrooms, a student café, student recreational lounge, a library and self-study facilities. With excellent teachers and facilities, a comprehensive and fun social programme and a perfect location, we believe we are the best school to learn English in Dublin!
We offer a wide range of courses. Our General English Fluency courses are our most popular courses. They are designed to give students the language skills to live, work, study and travel in English-speaking environments. They consist of either 20 or 26 lessons per week. We also offer specialist exam preparation courses for a selection of examinations such as the Cambridge First and Advanced exams, IELTS and TOEIC. These courses focus on areas of language that students may not be so confident with, and common exam subjects and topics. For non-EU students, our 6-month Academic Year (Study & Work) Programmes are the most popular options, which allow students to study and work in Ireland. Over the more recent years we have also developed a variety of engaging and impactful Erasmus+ teacher development courses for primary and secondary school teachers, as well as for academics and professionals working in Higher Education. Apart from that, we offer year-round Mini-Stay Programmes for closed groups as well as an all-inclusive, fun Junior Summer Programme. All our teaching is based on a communicative and task-based approach, which means students always focus on effective real-life communication and ways of practising and achieving it.
I’ve studied in Atlas three different times and felt that it was a very positive experience because the teachers make the lessons very interesting and I’ve met a lot of great people while studying here. I think that I will come back again and again... let’s go to Atlas!

Homestay:
Over the years we have built up strong relationships with a number of local families who host our students during their time in Ireland. Many students find staying with an Irish family a very rewarding experience as it offers them a unique insight into Irish culture and provides the perfect opportunity to improve their English by practising it in a natural everyday context.
Atlas Residence:
We offer single- and twin-room options in our residences. The Rathmines residence is a large 140-bed student residence, 15-minutes walking from the school, on beautiful grounds with lots of green and open space. Our Terenure residence is a stunning Georgian period house, located on a quiet road just a short bus ride or a 35 minute walk from the school.
Atlas Language School Dublin is located in Portobello in the South Centre of Dublin, and only a stone's throw from the action. It's a very trendy and cosmopolitan area with plenty of great and interesting bars and restaurants to choose from. The Grand Canal is just next to Atlas, which is great for walks and to enjoy the long summer days in the sun.
Portobello directly borders Rathmines, where one of our student residences is located. Rathmines is one of the best areas in the city, again with a range of great bars, cafes and restaurants!
Rathmines and Portobello are within walking distance to the city centre and situated along most major bus routes in and out the city, as well as close to the Luas (tram). This means that our host families, which are located in nice, residential areas in the south of Dublin, are all well connected to the school, which makes it easy for our students to get to the school!
Atlas Language School Dublin is an authorised exam centre for Cambridge, Trinity College London and TOEIC exams. We run a series of scheduled exams throughout the year, which are open to internal and external students.
We also offer exam preparation courses full-time and part-time. While they help students improve their general English language knowledge and skills, they also help students to understand how each exam is marked and how they can best approach each paper and question type.
Our part-time exam preparation courses are popular amongst non-native speakers living and working in Ireland as well as students on au pair programmes.
In addition to the regular tuition hours, we also offer practise tests and mock exams prior to the exam date.
Atlas Student App
All Atlas students have free access to our Atlas Student Mobile App. The app provides lots of useful information about their stay at Atlas - their course, accommodation, our activity programme and more! Students also have access to all their student documentation through the app and can give feedback.
Student Support
Our doors are always open and students can talk to us about any issue, no matter how big or small. Whatever is coming up during their time with us we are here to listen and help our students to enjoy their stay to the full and achieve their maximum potential.
Access to additional Study Club sessions
As part of their programme, Atlas students have access to a number of additional free Elective classes. These language learning sessions have been designed to help students express themselves and engage with other students in English more confidently. There are always two or three different elective classes weekly, which means up to an extra six additional lessons each week.
