It is without a question, the most important feature amongst the architecture there. The Greek theatre of Taormina has a splendid view of the Calabrian coast, the Ionian coast of Sicily and the spectacular cone of Etna. The public gardens of Taormina offer a beautiful view of the town. Duomo, the Cathedral of Taormina, was constructed in the 13th century on the ruins of the church dedicated to St. Nicholas of Bari. Although Taormina in size is considered a small town, the historic centre feels like a well-to-do hill village turned into a resort with a glossy sheen of glamour.
