Studio Cambridge is the oldest English language school in Cambridge, established 1954. Our main school is open year-round. It is located in an impressive 19th century building belonging to Cambridge University. It is within easy walking distance to the centre of Cambridge and the main railway station, from where there are frequent direct train services to London. Although we are not a small school, we treat our students as individual people. We have 16 classrooms and a capacity of approximately 180 students, so we can teach at all levels from beginner to advanced. We also have a self-study library, cafeteria and garden. Students come to Studio Cambridge from over 65 countries per year and speak dozens of languages.

Programmes Offered
EFL-20 Standard English - morning lessons only
Our morning classes offer General English skills, with no specialisation. They consist of 20 lessons each week, typically from 09:30 to 13:00 each day, Monday to Friday. The content of the morning classes differs according to the level, interests and age of the students in each class. However, all include the study of grammar, speaking, listening, pronunciation, writing skills and reading comprehension.
EFL-28 Intensive English - morning lessons plus afternoon option lessons
Each week EFL-28 offers 20 morning English lessons plus 8 lessons from a choice of specialised afternoon options. The specialised afternoon options are Functional English, Communication Skills, IELTS Preparation and Cambridge Examination Preparation (FCE and CAE)
CE-28 Combination English with one-to-one - morning lessons plus afternoon 1-to-1 tuition
Each week CE-28 offers 20 morning English lessons in international classes, plus 8 afternoon lessons of 1-to-1 tuition with a private teacher.
SIR GEORGE CAMP FOR AGES 14-17
This is an intensive course available to junior students during the academic year (January to June & August to December). The programme offers 20 lessons (15 hours) of General English language teaching per week, plus 8 lessons (6 hours) of English and life skills for teenagers and 5 sessions of guided study or cultural activities per week. All courses offer start dates every Monday and students can study for as long as they wish.
SIR MICHAEL CAMP FOR AGES 13-17
Sir Michael is our longest-running (since 1968!) and largest summer camp, welcoming up to 160 students each year. Running in July and August, the programme offers a dynamic blend of high-quality English lessons, engaging activities, and exciting cultural excursions — all in a safe and supportive environment with a high staff-to-student ratio.Students take part in 20 lessons (15 hours) of English per week, tailored to suit different learning styles and all levels from beginner to advanced. Lessons are designed to be motivating and challenging, with a focus on speaking, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Weekly progress tests help track development throughout the course.Outside the classroom, students enjoy a full schedule of sports, arts and crafts, language games, local visits, and social events. The programme is designed to keep students active, connected, and having fun every day.Each week also includes a full-day excursion to one of the UK’s most iconic destinations. Students may explore the landmarks of London, stroll the medieval streets of Warwick, or discover the royal charm of Windsor — all offering rich opportunities to experience British culture up close.Accommodation is provided in modern, single en-suite rooms located in nearby student residences, just five to ten minutes’ walk from the school and 10 to 20 minutes from central Cambridge. All meals are served at the school, with a variety of hot and cold options, including vegetarian choices. Free laundry facilities are available, and bed linen is changed weekly. Studio staff live on site in the residences, helping to supervise and organise evening activities. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated with advance notice.Sir Michael is the perfect place for young learners to improve their English, experience British life, and make lifelong memories.

All our homestay hosts are known to us personally and we inspect all of them at least once a year. They provide a friendly environment, a clean and comfortable bedroom, good food, and a quiet place for study. Homestays are located less than 40 minutes from school on foot, by bicycle or using the frequent bus services. Our hosts are typical of British and Cambridge society as a whole, with different ages and occupations, and from a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
During the summer, we offer residential accommodation to students aged 18+. Our residences are modern, purpose-built student apartment complexes and offer single en-suite bedrooms. They have a high standard of facilities and a young, lively international atmosphere.

Cambridge is a small, safe city, known throughout the world for its mediaeval university colleges, impressive architecture, River Cam and its green parks and gardens.
Cambridge has a long tradition, but is also a centre of exciting and innovative scientific research, with key local companies such as Microsoft, Apple and ARM based here.
It’s small enough to get around easily on foot or by bike, but big enough to have all the shops, restaurants, cinemas, theatres, clubs, museums, galleries and sports facilities that you need.
Attractions not to be missed are punting on the River Cam, the many stunning Cambridge University colleges such as King’s, Trinity, Jesus and St John’s College, Fitzwilliam Museum, University Botanic Garden and Traditional English afternoon tea in Grantchester Meadows.
