We are a family-run English language school for adults, with over 50 years of experience, located in the heart of beautiful Wimbledon.

We offer homestay, 40% of which are within walking distance, and student residences which provide an international experience. Our social programme is exciting and inclusive and the best way for you to make friends, practise your English and enjoy all that England has to offer.

We have a large team of well-qualified teachers and they are committed to helping you achieve your language learning goals. We want to make sure you improve not only your ability to communicate effectively in real life situations, but also build your confidence in doing so. Therefore all of our full-time courses focus on speaking, listening, reading and writing, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.
We promise to help you make the right academic choices for your future and help you make rapid progress along the way. We are serious about your progress and that is why our standard courses are a minimum of 20 full hours per week. We also offer intensive programmes of 23 hours and 20 mins per week. To support you further, we offer free academic counselling, guided self-study and hands-on learning support. All we ask in return is that you attend all classes and complete the homework set by your teachers.

Feeling at home in your accommodation is key to your happiness and your academic success. We have a number of different options available, and our dedicated accommodation staff work hard to meet your requirements. We personally manage all of our accommodation so you can be sure of high standards all the time.
Wimbledon is known the world over for the Tennis Championships held every summer, but there is much more to discover in this beautiful part of London.
Wimbledon is home to great entertainment including a theatre, cinema and comedy club, restaurants from across the world, street festivals, bars, pubs, fitness centres and a vibrant shopping centre that helped Wimbledon win its top 10 high street accolade in 2017.
Wimbledon also has an abundance of green space that offers peace and a place to relax, walk the dog, cycle, horse ride and run without being too far from the centre of London.
We are one of the few schools that has its very own exam centre so if you study with us you won’t have to travel far to take your exam.
If you are just looking to take an exam without a preparation course, we can offer this too.

Wimbledon School of English also has its own Junior Summer Centre for young learners aged 11 – 16. The school is based at Lord Wandsworth College - one of the UK’s largest boarding school campuses, just one hour outside of London.
The school is open for 5 weeks from Sun 8th July to Sat 11th August and you are able to study for 1 week or for the full 5 weeks. We offer 18 hours of General English tuition with the choice of 6 language workshops including Junior Journalist, Debating Presentations and Public Speaking, Film Making and Social Media, The Language of Sport, British Popular Culture and Cambridge FCE exam preparation.
The programme includes full board accommodation, 2 excursions per week, an action-packed social programme and evening entertainment, all within a beautiful and safe self-contained campus.
