This large, private building with 11 classrooms, a beautiful garden and a swimming pool, allows you to study in a quiet, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Both schools offer classrooms full of natural light, colourful design, comfort and functionality; the latest technology including interactive whiteboard displays; and wheelchair access.

Being accredited by Eaquals, our teaching standards are high and classes are intensive. Our teachers hold internationally recognised qualifications, use the latest technologies and methodologies, and are fully committed to supporting students in achieving their goals by going the extra mile for them.

Each lesson takes 50 minutes and we offer a total of 7 levels (Beginner to Proficiency).

Our English language courses are ideal if you want to improve your communication skills or language use, prepare for exams, or make progress in academic or work contexts. We encourage interaction and proactive learning to ensure you are attending the right course! For those who want to get the maximum out of their stay in little time, the English Plus programme is perfect as it combines English morning courses with volunteering in the afternoon. We generally love to contribute to disadvantaged communities and therefore initiated our full-time volunteer services in 2009 which embrace the spirit of making a difference!

Homestay
A homestay is your family away from home; the perfect way to further improve your English and explore South African culture and lifestyle. The various options (shared/private bathroom, BB/HB/self-catering) offer you independence combined with the loving care of a family. Our families are situated in good residential areas, close to public transport.

Residence
Our self-catering, modern, functional and comfortable residences are close to our school premises and grant you flexibility and independence. While staying in twin or single rooms, communal areas are shared. Some provide a garden and pool while others offer mini apartments and a private bathroom.

City centre
Cape Town’s mix of cultures and hustle and bustle are palpable in the heart of the city, with most important tourist attractions (The Company’s Garden, Parliament, museums, W&A Waterfront) being in walking distance.

Newlands
This leafy, upmarket area of Cape Town is home to many families and students due to its proximity to the University of Cape Town. Newlands is considered to be a very safe area. Bars, a shopping centre and the cricket stadium are only a short walk away.

Exams

Exam preparation courses are widely recognised by universities and employers worldwide, are highly intensive and help you prepare for your important exam.
• IELTS Participants join a General English course in the morning and participate in an exclusive IELTS Exam Preparation course in the afternoon. We are an IELTS registration and payment centre. Exams take place once a month.
• Cambridge Courses: B2 First, C1 Advanced and C2 Proficiency Courses are approx. 10 weeks. Homework and self-study in the afternoons are obligatory. Exams can be written in Cape Town; we assist with the exam registration.
• Cambridge Teacher Training: CELTA is an internationally recognised teaching qualification for those with little or no previous teaching experience, providing international job opportunities. We offer in-person courses for 4 weeks.

Activities Programme
The Good Hope Studies Social Club offers a vast activity programme in and around Cape Town, focusing on adventure, fun, culture, history, nature, sports and culinary arts. At the same time, it encourages friendships with fellow students and helps in practising newly acquired language skills.

Groups
Our group programmes (whether they include junior or adult groups) are tailor-made for our clients’ needs, budget, and tuition and activity requests. One thing is certain: we offer them a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Volunteering
Volunteering can be done full time or in combination with an English course in the morning. The contribution to protecting Africa’s endangered wildlife and making a difference in devastated communities and lives of children changes not only those we serve, but those who serve.
