Sustainability Saves Money, Attracts Students
Join IALC and guest speaker Jonathan Dykes of Green Standard Schools in our free online training session to see how ecologically sustainable practices can create real savings and attract students at the same time.
This session will explore how environmental action can be: Realistic – Environmental action you can actually implement Measurable – Track and show your impact Effective – Tangible benefits for schools, students, agents, and the planet
Caring for our planet is no longer optional. At the same time, the environmental impact of international education is real — and it’s something our sector can no longer ignore or leave for others to solve.
The good news is that taking meaningful action to reduce our environmental impact is not only the right thing to do; it also brings clear and practical benefits. Sustainable practices can help lower operating costs, strengthen institutional credibility, and increasingly influence student choice.
This is particularly true for younger generations of learners, for whom environmental responsibility plays a key role when deciding where and how to study. The same applies to staff: younger employees, in particular, are increasingly drawn to organisations whose values align with their own and who demonstrate a genuine commitment to sustainability in everyday practice. Agents can play a central role by actively promoting schools that have taken concrete steps and achieved recognised environmental accreditation.
This initiative is part of IALC’s commitment to sustainable education and was inspired by our friends at Green Standard Schools, who continue to promote environmental responsibility across the global language education sector.
