UK English Summer Programme for International Students
Gordon’s School, located in the heart of the English countryside, is one of the UK’s most sought-after schools. Originally built to honour British war hero General Gordon, it has evolved into a modern educational institution with outstanding facilities. The campus includes a large sports hall, tennis courts, mirrored dance and drama studios, art studios, and 40 acres of playing fields, providing students with ample space for recreation and creativity. The school features numerous well-equipped classrooms and dedicated learning spaces that support both academic and extracurricular development.

At Gordon’s School, we offer two exciting English language programmes tailored to different goals and interests: the Multi-Activity Programme and the Intensive Course.
Multi-Activity Programme
The Multi-Activity Programme is ideal for students who want to improve their English while enjoying a wide range of fun and cultural activities. In addition to engaging lessons, students take part in sports, arts and crafts, drama, dance, and Irish music. Excursions to top UK attractions like Windsor Castle, Oxford, and the London Eye provide valuable cultural exposure.
Curso intensivo
The Intensive Course offers additional classroom hours and smaller group sessions, focusing on improving students’ spoken English and confidence. This programme is perfect for those who want faster language progress while still enjoying a full schedule of social and recreational activities.
A unique highlight of both programmes is the optional enrichment activities (available at extra cost). Students can play football with professional coaches and local children, offering an authentic and fun team experience. For those interested in music and culture, bagpipe and drum lessons provide a rare opportunity to explore traditional instruments in a hands-on way—making their stay truly unforgettable.

Students at Gordon’s are accommodated in one of three welcoming boarding houses: Sandringham, Balmoral House, or Windsor Lodge. Sandringham and Balmoral mainly offer 2-bed rooms, with some 4-bed and a few larger rooms for up to 6 students. Windsor Lodge includes 2-, 3-, and 4-bed rooms, creating a comfortable and social atmosphere. All boarding houses provide a secure and supportive environment where students can relax and feel at home. Accommodation is full board, with all meals provided, including packed lunches on full-day excursions. Meals are varied and high quality, with international-themed days. Most dietary needs can be met with advance notice and a small charge. A weekly laundry service is included, and bed linen is changed weekly to ensure a clean, pleasant stay.

Gordon’s Boarding School is situated near the charming town of Woking in Surrey, just 30 miles from central London. Set within stunning grounds, the school offers a peaceful and picturesque environment, ideal for study and recreation. The historic campus blends tradition with modern facilities, creating a safe and inspiring space for students.
Woking is just 20 minutes away, with frequent bus connections from the nearby village of West End to both Woking and Guildford. From Woking, students can reach London by train in just 25 minutes, making it easy to explore the capital’s many attractions. The school’s location also offers excellent transport links, with convenient access to Heathrow and Gatwick airports, as well as the Eurostar terminal. This makes arrivals and departures simple for international students and ensures that exciting excursions are always within easy reach.

Students are at the heart of what we do. Emerald offers a supportive environment for students of all ages, ensuring they feel prepared and confident throughout their learning journey. Our experienced academic team offers guidance tailored to each student’s goals, including support for exam preparation where relevant. While our junior summer programmes are not exam-focused, students benefit from continuous assessment and feedback to track progress and build confidence in their English skills. To help students and parents prepare before arrival, we host a pre-arrival webinar covering key practical and logistical information. This session also allows families and partners to ask questions and better understand what to expect during the student’s stay.
