Things to see in Paris
Paris was at the centre of the French Revolution and symbols of this lie in the city, including two Statues of Liberty located on the Île des Cygnes and in the Luxembourg Gardens.
A larger version of the statues was sent as a gift from France to America in 1886 and now stands in New York City's harbour.

A trip to Paris must include a visit to the Tour Eiffel, created for the Paris Exhibition of 1889 and intended only to stand for 20 years.
Its use as a radio tower by the military ensured it remained there for years to come. Other famous sites include the Louvre, the elegant Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, place de la Concorde, Montmartre, and Notre Dame Cathedral, erected over a period of 182 years.
Rock fans are magnetically attracted to the Père Lachaise Cemetery and grave of Jim Morrison of The Doors, though since one of Morrison's fellow band members declared it "too short”, there have been rumours that the grave is empty. Equally devoted fans make the pilgrimage to the grave of the legendary French singer, poet, actor and director, Serge Gainsbourg, at the Cimitière Montparnasse.
For shoppers, the Avenue de L’Opéra has many department stores while Faubourg Saint-Honoré is one of Paris' high-fashion districts, home to French labels such as Hermès and Christian Lacroix.
Amazing nightlife
Paris has a vivid nightlife and many restaurants, bars, and clubs to choose from.
Famous bars in Paris include the Buddha Bar on Bis Rue Boissy d’Anglas, and Harry’s New York Bar, legendary birthplace of the Bloody Mary cocktail. Popular day and evening venues are the Café Les Deux Magots and Café de Flore, former haunts of the French existentialists and literati.
Sports fans, too, have plenty of choice in Paris, from French Open tennis at Roland Garros to Six Nations Rugby at the Stade de France.
