Témoignages

Lacunza was a fantastic experience. They are well organized, have terrific teachers, arranged extra activities to learn more about the City but also other things. For example, the Film Festival was coming to San Sebastián and one of the teachers gave a session on Spanish cinema. I met great people from all over. I feel much more comfortable speaking Spanish and learned a lot. They did a good job of placing students who spoke at the same level. Overall, I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to learn/improve Spanish and have fun along the way!

I have had a fantastic time and enriching learning experience in Lacunza. The staff was helpful and friendly, and living with the Spanish family was a great eye-opening. I will recommend this place to my friends and colleagues, and if I have an opportunity, I will go there again either alone or with my family. Thank you ever so much for your help, flexibility, and attention you have given me. Muchas gracias por todo. Un abrazo.

I’m a man from Finland. Although it might not seem like it, I’m already 49 years old. Since there are very few Spanish speakers where I live, I made the decision to come to San Sebastián to study and practice Spanish in the streets. I had been to Spain about 15 times before, but never to the north — which is why I chose to study at Lacunza IH. San Sebastián is wonderful. Although it’s not a big city, it has everything: stunning beaches and views, shopping opportunities, nearby beautiful towns and villages, nightlife, lovely nature, and more. I love studying with students from all continents and of different ages. The teachers at the school are very competent and friendly, and I found the teaching methods to be very suitable. Now, not only is my vocabulary broader, but my grammar knowledge has improved as well. Plus, by studying in San Sebastián, I’ve picked up many little things from colloquial language.

I came to Lacunza for three months and learned a lot. I went from level A1 to B1. The teaching staff, as well as everyone working at the school, were extremely kind and supportive, well beyond just the classroom. I will never forget this experience and will come back as soon as I can.

I liked that there was both a written and an oral test because that meant we were all put into classes that were appropriate for our levels of understanding. There were people from all over the world in my class and of all ages which made it very interesting and a lot of fun. Rosa, our teacher, made a lot of effort to add variety to the class. The grammar was quite tough but Rosa has a nice way of correcting us when we make mistakes.

Very good school — my children have taken courses there several times (we live near the Spanish border) and have always come back delighted! The teaching is high-quality, and the host families do a great job. I highly recommend Lacunza!

I enrolled in a 3 week course last summer in Lacunza and I learnt a lot, I feel much more comfortable speaking Spanish now. The teachers are great, creative, well trained and motivated. The school itself is professional, efficient and very friendly. My host family was very caring and spent lot of time with me, I am still in touch with them. The school makes it very easy to get to know other students so even if you book on your own you will make new friends very quickly taking part in the activities. I can’t wait to come back next year!
