It is the capital of Wales and is a bustling metropolitan city to which thousands of students travel every year. The city is friendly and safe, with a low cost of living and has a fantastic reputation for education. Students can really enjoy the benefits of staying in both a lively and historical city.
Cardiff is home to some of the most amazing sports events! The city has a great reputation as a sporting capital due to the quality of the sports events and facilities. There are two venues right in the middle of town, Cardiff Arms Park and Millennium Stadium. The city has hosted the FA Cup finals, Ruby League Challenge Cup finals and many more games. In addition, Cardiff is also big on cricket with Sophia Gardens cricket grounds being the headquarters of the Glamorgan CCC.
Cardiff has many attractions including Cardiff Castle which is located in the Castle Quarter, in the heart of Cardiff. There has been a fort on the site for almost 2,000 years. Cardiff Castle is a unique blend of different architectural styles, although it was constructed by the Normans there are still Roman parts and Gothic-Victorian parts attached to it. At the Castle the Welsh banquets are a popular tourist attraction so students can enjoy the food, drinks, and entertainments just as they would have several centuries ago.
Students will be thrilled to know that the nightlife in Cardiff is widely known as one of the UK’s liveliest. Stylish bars and dancing venues, students can also enjoy hand-made cocktails and a range of party music.
