What is IALC ?
The International Association of Language Centres is an award-winning association of independent language schools that teach the language of their country. Their quality is guaranteed through minimum standards, regular inspection, a code of ethics and a philosophy of continuous improvement.
IALC language schools are for people who want to learn the language where it is spoken at a school providing a high level of individual attention. We offer language courses plus accommodation, cultural activities and expert advice and are represented by professional study travel agencies in most countries.
IALC is an association, run by members with the support of a professional secretariat in Canterbury, UK. The benefits of membership are accreditation, professional exchange and promotion under the IALC label.

Accredited Independent Language Schools Worldwide
Founded in 1983, the International Association of Language Centres (IALC) is a network of high-quality, independent language schools teaching their native language to international students. Located in the major capitals, university cities, beach resorts and historic towns worldwide, IALC accredited language schools provide effective language courses and cultural immersion for all ages, needs and interests.
Today, there are 104 IALC schools in 24 countries worldwide, providing Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish language programmes for all kinds of language learner.

Agents in fruitful exchange with IALC over dinner in Berlin

The IALC Executive Board and 2010 Galway Workshop organisers GCI enjoyed an evening of socialising and discussion with language travel agents on Sunday 1 November, at a special IALC dinner during ICEF Berlin. This was the first such dinner, the aim of which is to bring senior IALC representatives together with IALC partner agencies and prospective partner agencies.
