Every weekend, students at GLS Campus Berlin can discover more of Germany on reduced-cost excursions thanks to the group rates negotiated by the German language school. Accompanied by a GLS guide at no extra charge, students just pay for train tickets, board and accommodation.
In July and August 2011 trips include:
•Medieval city of Stralsund (16 July), - part of UNESCO world heritage
•Canoeing in Spreewald (16 July), - a network of hundreds of rivers and canals within beautiful forests
•Potsdam (23 July), - over 1000 years old and full of palaces, gardens and lakes, Potsdam is now home to many German TV and movie stars
•Teufelsberg (31 July), - full of Cold War history, this hill also has a fantastic view over Berlin
•Rostock (06 August), - one of the most beautiful cities on the Baltic sea coast with a history of more than 800 years
•Dresden (13 August), - famous as one of the most sophisticated cities in Germany, a must see
•Szczecin in Poland (20 August), - once modelled on Paris, Szczecin is an impressive mix of historic and modern architecture
•Camp Ravensbrück (27 August), - in 1938 the Nazis established this camp especially for women
