At the Frances King School of English in London, children on the Family Programme now receive progress diaries so their parents can know about their learning.

In the weekly diary, children record what they have done in class. And at the end of the course, the teachers give all the students an End of Course Report to show their progress during their time at Frances King.

Course director Diane Briggs explains why the diaries have been introduced: “Parents have always been invited to discuss their children’s progress with teachers, and we still encourage them to do so, but often they want to leave quickly once classes are over to explore London or Dublin”.

The next Family Programme takes place in Spring in the Central London district of Kensington for 1-5 weeks. Children are accepted from the age of 8 and parents can study if they wish, while accommodation can be arranged for the whole family.
