ELC Brighton develops Mindfulness course for language teachers

Since it was founded in 1962 ELC Brighton has always been committed to innovation and teacher training/development. In an ever more busy, stressful environment teachers have started exploring mindfulness as a way of looking after their own well-being and increasingly that of their students, leading to improvements in the classroom environment and learning outcomes.

ELC Brighton has developed a very practical course designed to help language teachers incorporate mindfulness and emotional intelligence into their language teaching. The Mindfulness and Emotional Intelligence in Language Teaching course is taught using CLIL methodology to enhance both language and content learning. The course will run for 3 dates in 2019 coinciding with teacher holidays in the summer and October.

ELC is a not-for-profit educational charity with schools in Brighton and Eastbourne. It has been training and developing teachers of English for nearly 60 years. Every year more than 200 teachers attend one of our training courses. Teachers courses at ELC Brighton are eligible for Erasmus+ funding.
