One of the most popular and fun Chinese festivals is the Dragon Boat Festival or 端午节 Duanwujie. It is celebrated every year on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month.
This year it fell on 12 June and Mandarin House invited their students to participate in the celebration. They played games, made and ate lots of traditional zongzi (glutinous rice wrapped in leaves with other ‘treasures’ inside), and learned about the traditional Chinese culture surrounding this festival.
