Langports Australian English language schools establish football tradition

Quality Language Schools Worldwide

International students come to the Langports English language schools in Australia not only to learn English, but to experience a different culture and build friendships through study and activities - including soccer. What began as an informal football showdown between the two Langports campuses of Brisbane and the Gold Coast, consisting of two games every six months, has become and annual event in the school calendar. For 'The Langports Cup', students and staff bond together as a team and supporters, and everyone is encouraged to get involved.

The two teams go head to head on and off the field, with prizes for the best cheer squad and greatest support group. Banners, pom-poms and cheers are prepared weeks before the event and participation rates are high through both schools. On each match day, around 400 students and teachers watch the game.

The winner of the 2008 Langports Cup was Langports Gold Coast, so Brisbane have everything to play for in 2009! Pictured are the two 2008 teams.
