2017 report cover

As an association committed to language learning and cultural exchange, IALC is proud to contribute research on language study abroad.

Our latest IALC Study Travel Research Report 2017, The student perspective on language study abroad: Student expectations, experiences and satisfaction launched at an exclusive seminar at ICEF Berlin in-front of a huge audience and was hosted by Patrik Pavlacic from StudentMarketing and introduced by IALC Vice-President of Marketing Robin Adams.

The study, which is available for download here, reflects the findings of a global survey that gathered 4,755 responses from 136 countries.

Surprisingly little research exists into the entire student journey, starting with the evolution of student expectations through the actual experience with an IALC school, to measuring and quantifying satisfaction levels among students. All respondents were current or former students enrolled at one of our fantastic 140 IALC member centres.

The seminar was enthusiastically received by agents and educators alike and gave attendees the first chance to see the results of the report and to take home a copy for themselves.

Meeting

This is the third study travel research reports commissioned by IALC, but the first edition to focus on the end-customer.

Highlights of the 2017 Research Report:

IALC schools over-deliver in academic and cultural immersion-related factors (school atmosphere, experiencing another culture, and teaching were the top three factors exceeding expectations.

Students are generally very satisfied with their destination, school and course selection.

94% would recommend an IALC school to a friend.
