Quality Language Schools Worldwide

As well as outstanding teaching standards and service, all IALC language schools have individual character and a real connection with their local community; encouraging students to immerse themselves in the language, practise in real-life situations, make international friends and see the world.

A key example of this can be seen by the work of ACET – Active Centre of English Training in Cork, Ireland that in early 2014 created a unique challenge for their clients. This challenge was aimed at immersing their students in the local culture in true ‘Cork Style’.

’The Corkonian Challenge’ sees ACET students fulfilling a list of trials in the hope of gaining a certificate of ‘Corkonian authenticity.

Over four years on from the launch of the ‘The Corkonian Challenge’, nearly 50 students have completed the task, as a band of honorary Corkonians have flown back to their homelands with a Certificate of Corkonian authenticity and fabulous memories.

In early June 2017 this activity, with its list of 16 local and exciting challenges, made the local press as Cork’s Evening Echo approached the school for an interview about this creative incentive they created for their students, which can be viewed on the left.

This is great recognition for ACET and the school encourages all of their clients to take part in this challenge and gain this extra certificate.

‘One newly crowned ‘Corkonian’, Markus Waldispuhl, receiving his certificate from ACET’s Chris McMahon.’
