The Oxford English Centre has invited other IALC language schools to enter teams and individuals in the 2010 Oxford Fun Run to raise money for charity.
In 2009, IALC sponsored a trophy for the Fun Run, which was won by a team of Oxford Engish Centre students (pictured). IALC also entered its own team. The 2009 Fun Run raised over £18,000 for the following charities: Pathway Workshop, Headway, Age Concern, New Life, Response, Footsteps, Mind, Pegasus Theatre, Wesley Memorial, Cystic Fibrosis, Motor Neurone, Stroke Assoc, Nepalese Children’s Home and Parkinson’s Society.
The post-race barbecue was hosted as usual by Oxford English Centre and was a big success with hungry participants.
The 2010 Oxford Fun Run in May promises more of the same. Runners and organisations may donate their sponsorship to the official charities or raise funds for their own good causes.
