As part of its ‘Opération humanitaire 2014’, French in Normandy has recently raised 50 kilos of food for the ‘Restos du Cœur’ branch in Rouen.

Everyone was asked to contribute one item for the operation and whatever the weight at the end of the two weeks, school owners Tom and Eleri Maitland matched it.

« Local Supermarket Intermarché lent us a shopping trolley to collect the items and we had a very interesting talk about the ‘Restos du Coeur’ – a project started by French comedian Coluche in 1985. We are very pleased how this first event has worked out and aim to repeat this at the end of the year to help take action before the winter. French in Normandy feels that it is very important to contribute to our local community in this way. » explained Eleri.
