Torquay International School is very pleased to welcome Dean Jones as the new general manager of Torquay International School on the English Riviera. Dean has worked in the industry for almost 20 years. Starting in China training teachers with Voluntary Service Overseas, he then moved to Japan and worked as an academic manager with responsibility for a region of 47 schools. After returning to the UK and spending almost 8 years as General Manager of LAL Torbay in Paignton, he has now moved to Torquay, the ‘Queen of the English Riviera’. Dean and his wife Wendy made a conscious decision to live and work in Devon to ensure a good quality of life and excellent education for their children.

Dean stated “I am delighted to have joined Torquay International School – the staff are very welcoming and friendly, the facility is excellent and, of course, Torquay is such a beautiful place. It’s great to work with an independent school who are members of English UK, IALC and The English Network”.

Judith Hands, owner and Managing Director of TIS said “Dean’s experience and professional approach is just what we need to take us forward”. She added that she had no immediate plans for an early retirement but would look forward to spending more time with agents and colleagues and finding time for some creative thinking!
