Quality Language Schools Worldwide

Two new Italian language courses to be launched at BABILONIA in Sicily in summer 2005 continue the Italian language school’s tradition of combining learning Italian with different activities. Gourmets can sample Italian plus Wine, Cheese and Oil of Sicily, while divers can experience the diving off Sicily while studying Italian in Taormina.

Babilonia's “Italian plus” courses are founded on the principle that language students are travellers seeking to expand their knowledge and discover new cultures and experiences.

Established 13 years ago, the locally run Italian language school pioneered this type of language programme. Other combinations include a cooking course with a genuine "mum" in a traditional Italian family kitchen and a course on Sicilian Ceramics, an art dating back to the time of the Greek colonies. Babilonia also runs excursions beyond the typical tourist destinations in Sicily, including eco-tours, and hiking and trekking programs to the remote sites in Sicily.

Students who choose the new Wine, Cheese and Oil of Sicily option will study, taste and experience the quality of these locally grown products, which have played an integral role in Sicily's heritage for hundreds of years.

The diving programme suits beginners as well as the more experienced and includes the chance to take the PADI international licence.
