Spanish Language School in Nerja Celebrates 30 Years

1 July 2010

Quality Language Schools Worldwide

Spanish language school Escuela de Idiomas Nerja thanked its staff and study travel agents across the world for many years of loyal service with a 30th anniversary party in July.

Owners Renate and Luis met on a beach in Nerja more than 30 years ago and began teaching languages in their own home. In 1985 they opened their language school, organising intensive group Spanish courses, offering cultural activities and placing students in home stays with Spanish families. Just five years later, Escuela de idiomas joined IALC, where they met their first study travel agents, some of whom they still work with today.

Over the years, the Spanish language school has grown and now has several buildings and its own residence, welcoming over 1,200 students a year from more than 45 countries.

At the anniversary party, agents and friends were treated to an Andalusian feast and traditional Spanish flamenco, with a relaxing boat trip the following day. Renate and Luis are looking forward to expanding their success in the future.
