On Saturday, May 7, the Rennert New York TESOL Center held its fourth semi-annual TESOL mini-conference.
Over 75 teachers and administrators of adult ESL programs around New York attended. There was great energy and excitement with presentations on writing, using technology, multi-level classes, communicative lesson planning and much more. Teachers loved the practical focus of the conference and many schools sent several of their teachers to attend.
Presenters were from Rennert's senior academic staff, including the Center Director James Stakenburg, Caroline McKinnon, the Director of Studies and Autumn Westphal, the Head of Teacher Training, as well as Ralph Herdman, a teacher trainer at Rennert and Noga Lao'or, the Director of ESL programs at LIU and former Rennert Academic Director.
