Melton College English Language School in York Announces FCE Preparation Course

Melton College English language school in York has introduced a 12-week FCE preparation course leading to the December examination. The course will be led by Tim Ashurst, Academic Manager at Melton College and a highly experienced Cambridge examiner.

The course will offer

•22.5 hours tuition per week

•30 minute tutorial every fortnight with a qualified Cambridge examiner

•FREE exam entry

•“Guided e-learning” account from registration until 12 weeks after departure

The course is aimed at Intermediate to Upper Intermediate students. Students should be at level B1 at the start of the course.

Students may join the course for six weeks starting on 25 October or four weeks starting on 8 November 2010. The exam will take place in week 13 of the course. The first four papers are on 7 December and the speaking exam is on 10 December 2010.

Free exam week tuition

The tutorials, access to self-study and all other facilities at the college will continue through the exam week. All students, whether they attend for 4, 6 or 12 weeks, can join English classes during the exam week free of charge. There will be no FCE Preparation classes in the exam week.

Free “wind-down” week

Students booking the course for 12 weeks can stay on at Melton College for the final week of term free of charge, joining General English A course from 13 to 17 December. Accommodation for this week will cost £110.25.

Melton College in York has been a Cambridge examination test centre for many years, running the Cambridge exams at all levels from KET to CPE for its own students as well as students from all over the region.
