16 September 2015

After a year of operation, LILA* London will cease to operate from 18 September 2015. The newly renovated language school in Canada Water London, is sadly closing its doors due to market conditions.

“After exploring other options and after much consideration we decided to close. It was a very difficult decision however we couldn’t see the market changing in 2016,” said Director Leanne Linacre.

LILA* London welcomed students from South America, Europe, Asia and Russia during its year of operation. The LILA* team are working with the agents and students affected to find suitable replacement schools. LILA*’s main priority is to ensure that our partners are well informed and that students continue to have an enjoyable study abroad experience at in the UK.

“It’s really unfortunate we’ve had to close as the feedback we received from students was fantastic. They loved the location, facilities and staff, however we couldn’t reach the numbers we needed to make it work,” said Director Victoria Lee.

“We’ll still continue to offer the same great quality service and facilities at LILA* Liverpool and focus our efforts on making sure that each students’ experience is one to be remembered. We’ll be welcoming more groups to Liverpool throughout 2016 and expanding our adult and junior group portfolio,” said Marketing Manager, Sarah Hamilton.

LILA* is owned by sisters Leanne Linacre and Victoria Lee. LILA* has been operating successfully in Liverpool for 10 years. LILA* will continue to serve its students and partners in Liverpool. The equipment from LILA* London will be transferred to LILA* Liverpool giving the existing school a refresh. The equipment includes Apple TV’s, ping pong table and new furniture.
