Kevin takes helm at Torquay International School after Judith retires

7 March 2017

Quality Language Schools Worldwide

Following the retirement of Judith Hands at the beginning of the year, Torquay International School is now fully owned by Kevin McNally.

TIS was founded in 1972 by SIS, a daughter company of Vingresor, a subsidiary of the airline SAS.  After several MBO’s, Judith became sole owner of TIS and Kevin came on board at the beginning of 2015.

Judith commented that it has been an honour to work beside so many loyal and hard-working and inspired administration and teaching staff as well as the Club TIS Hotel staff.  Many grew older together, and what a pleasure it has been to work with so many good people.

"Being a part of IALC has, without doubt, been another highlight of my working life,”

“Colleagues that you work with, even those who are strong competitors can also become the very best of friends and these friendships have meant so much to me for almost the whole of my working life. I have learned and shared so much with so many of you.  Travelling together has been great fun, discovering new countries and new experiences and meeting new friends has always been a highlight of this job”.

“I now have a new life to look forward to, a garden to sort out, friends to visit and places to return to and new places to discover"

We at IALC would like to thank Judith for being such a wonderful contributor to the association and wish her the very best of luck in the future.

Judith is retained as a consultant and can be contacted on judith@tisenglish.co.uk
