Interview with Tamwood Scholarship Winner - Marshall Language Studies

Marshall Language Studies in Switzerland has won this week’s free scholarship at Tamwood Language Centres in Canada.

We spoke to Cyrille Marshall to find out more about Marshall Language Studies and their plans for the 2012 IALC Workshop in Toronto.

Q: Congratulations Cyrille, you are the sixth winner of our weekly free scholarship prize draws. How do you feel?

A: I’m very happy to have won this prize. Thank you very much!

Q: What are you most looking forward to at the 2012 IALC Workshop?

A:I’m looking forward to meeting new partners from all over the world and friends from the schools I already represent.

Q: At the Workshop you’ll be able to meet over 100 IALC schools, covering nine major languages in destinations across the world. What are your particular interests - destinations, languages, programmes, age-groups?

A: The US market interests me a lot, Canada and Germany. Programmes:General English and Cambridge Exam Preparation, General German and Exam Preparation, Age group: 16 years and over (generally 18 years and over)

Q: You were established in 1996. How have things changed at the agency since then?

A: I started working with Australia and step- by-step I developed my agency. During many years, Australia was the first destination. Now I get more requests for England and for Germany.

Q: Where does the majority of your student business come from e.g. walk-in, word-of-mouth, website...?

A: Word-of-mouth.

Q: Has the source of your student business changed for you over the years?

A: No.

Q: What do you see as the biggest challenges in the year ahead?

A: I’d like to keep on offering personalised high quality services to my students to help them realise their personal development goals.

Q: Moving on to find out more about you, which is your favourite travel destination?

A: Australia.

Q: Your favourite pastime?

A: I love my job.

Q: Your favourite song?

A: Oasis, "Wonderwall"

Q: Your favourite meal?

A: Sole and seafood

Q: Your dream dinner guest?

A: Nelson Mandela
