Quality Language Schools Worldwide

Liliane Said of ExpoMundi in Brazil has won one of our free scholarships at Tamwood Language Centres in Canada.

We spoke to Liliane to find out more about ExpoMundi and their plans for the 2012 IALC Workshop in Toronto.

Q: Congratulations, Liliane, you are a winner of our weekly free scholarship prize draw. How do you feel?

A: I’m very happy to be the lucky winner and especially to have the opportunity to know the school from the student point of view.

Q: What are you most looking forward to at the 2012 IALC Workshop?

A: I’m looking forward to meeting with schools that are proved to have high quality on teaching and to know diversified courses to offer to our clients.

Q: At the Workshop you’ll be able to meet over 100 IALC schools, covering nine major languages in destinations across the world. What are your particular interests - destinations, languages, programmes, age-groups?

A: The majority of our clients still ask for languages courses and also work and study programmes. But students are now looking for something more than the improvement of the language, something to add to their curriculum.

Q: You were established in 2008. How have things changed at the agency since then?

A: Over the years we have been able to offer different courses that are more suitable to what they are looking for.

Q: Where does the majority of your student business come from e.g. walk-in, word-of-mouth, website...?

A: Most of them come from our website, but after 4 years we have word-of-mouth referrals and students wanting to go for a second course in a different location.

Q: Has the source of your student business changed for you over the years?

A: It has diversified.

Q: What do you see as the biggest challenges in the year ahead?

A: Being able to always anticipate what students will want and also finding a way to keep up with the ever changing economy.

Q: Moving on to find out more about you, which is your favourite travel destination?

A: I always dreamed of visiting Canada. This is my dream come true.

Q: Your favourite pastime?

A: Going out for a movie or staying in reading a good book.

Q: Your favourite song?

A: I like all kinds of music, but if I have to name one song it would be “Fly me to the Moon” by Frank Sinatra.

Q: Your favourite meal?

A: Good pasta.

Q: Your dream dinner guest?

A: A dinner with interesting and entertaining people.

Thank you Liliane and we look forward to meeting you at the IALC Workshop in April.
