IALC was announced as 2014 Star School Association at the STM Star Awards in London on 30 August 2014. David Girecourt from IALC Corporate Partner Guard.me presented the award. Having been nominated every year since the awards began in 2007, IALC has now won the language school association category four times.

On the same evening, Barbara Jaeschke, founder and owner of GLS, won Star German Language School Award for her campus-based school in Berlin.

IALC President, Celestine Rowland and Executive Director, Jan Capper collected the award on behalf of the members of IALC.

Celestine thanked the many study travel agencies who voted for IALC and encouraged others to “give us a try”.

She cited the EL Gazette’s September 2014 analysis of IALC, which shows that IALC's UK members on average fall in the top 20% of language schools in the Accreditation UK rankings. The article goes on to say that IALC schools around the world "share many of the same characteristics of the top-performing UK schools”.
