Language schools newly accredited by IALC
In October 2014, IALC welcomes two new members. Hilderstone College and the College International de Cannes both fulfilled all membership requirements and successfully passed the IALC inspection.
Hilderstone College was founded in 1970 in the seaside town of Broadstairs.
An EL Gazette Centre of Excellence, the college offers a wide range of courses including intensive English, university preparation, business English and exam preparation courses for adult learners (minimum age 17). The College also specialises in teacher development courses for English and CLIL.
The College International de Cannes teaches French to adults and teenagers (16 year-old and above) in Cannes, France.
The school was founded in 1931 by the French poet Paul Valery, and is located by the sea, a 15-minute walk to the Old Port of Cannes. The school offers 15 levels of French language and culture courses year-round as well as on-site accommodation, meals and activities.
Fam trip 3 after the IALC 2015 Workshop in Rouen, will include a visit to this school.
New language centres opened by current IALC members
USA based school Bridge has launched three University Pathway programmes:
- BridgePathways Chadron State College in Nebraska
- BridgePathways Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado
- BridgePathways Philadelphia University in Pensylvania
Liverpool-based LILA*, which joined IALC in August 2014, has opened a new branch in London. Courses include General English, and Exam preparation.
Langports English Language College have a new campus in Sydney in the Darling Harbour area. Courses include: Business English, English for academic purposes and exam preparation.
Giralda Center (Spain) and Tamwood (Canada) have opted to resign from IALC as of October 2014.
