Good Hope Studies is open again!

IALC-accredited learn English in Cape Town language school Good Hope Studies opened its doors again on June 22, one of the first English Language schools in Cape Town to do so:

Good Hope Studies is open again!

During lockdown we put together an online training course on how to prepare one's business to be compliant with international and national COVID-19 safety measures. When reopening our own operation, all the preparation work for the course paid off as we only needed to apply our own findings from that course.

All staff members were fully trained on strict safety measures and, just before reopening, the school was deep cleaned and sanitised, risk assessments were done and all PPE equipment bought and set up in accordance with our action plan:

  • Students will use the same desk each day.
  • Masks and/or face shields are required to be worn by all staff and students throughout the day (each student receives one face shield free of charge).
  • 'No-touch' sanitising stations and information posters are provided.
  • Where necessary, surfaces are cleaned after each use.
  • Cleaning is done every 2- 3 hours.
  • Screening and temperature checks are done daily.
  • Traffic flow inside the building is one way only.
  • Student computers and the library remain closed.
  • Accommodation or activities are not available at this stage.

Safety and high quality standards have always been a priority to us and we have gone the extra mile to guarantee our staff and clients' safety.

Teaching and studying is, of course, a bit different to how it was before, but the feedback we receive is phenomenal! About thirty students from Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Angola, Brazil, Egypt and Sudan have restarted their studies with us.

"It feels great to have at least some of our students back again and we look forward to welcoming many more once the international borders open again!“ says Wolfgang Graser, Managing Director of Good Hope Studies.
