French language school, IS Aix-en-Provence, has been awarded a three-star rating of quality from national accreditation scheme, “French Foreign Language Quality.” The school scored the highest possible rating of 3 stars in each of the 5 areas inspected. These include: Premises & equipment, training, teaching staff, management, reception & services.
This certification system, which started in 2007, is implemented by the French Ministries of Higher Education and Research, Foreign and European Affairs and Culture and Communication. It aims to give those schools who are accredited a stamp of official identification, recognition and promotion and provides a guarantee of quality to potential students.
This month also sees the start of a new university semester study abroad programme in conjunction with the University of Stockholm. As of January 2008, IS Aix-en-Provence will be responsible for providing a semester of language teaching for the Department of French at Stockholm university. Approved French language courses taken by their students at IS Aix-en-Provence will be now be recognized as credits for University of Stockholm French students as part of their curriculum framework.
