Four IALC schools took top honours in September at the 2011 Language Travel Magazine LTM Star Awards in London, while IALC was shortlisted for Star School Association. Study travel agents worldwide voted French in Normandy (France), English Language Company (Australia), Linguaviva (Italy) and Liden & Denz Language Centres (Russia) as the star language schools in their language categories.
IALC has been shortlisted for LTM Star School Association every year since 2006 and was awarded Star School Association in 2006, 2008 and 2009.
In total 21 IALC schools were shortlisted in the annual study travel awards organised by Hothouse Media, a record for the association. The other IALC nominees were: Bournemouth Business School International (UK), Escuela de Idiomas Nerja (Spain), Malaca Instituto (Spain), France Langue (France), Institut Linguistique Adenet (ILA) (France), GLS Sprachenzentrum (Germany), BWS Germanlingua (Germany), Galway Cultural Institute (Ireland), Languages International (New Zealand), Good Hope Studies (South Africa), Tamwood International College (Canada), LSC Language Studies Canada (Canada), Rennert (USA) Accademia Italiana Salerno (Italy), KAI Japanese Language School (Japan), Mandarin House (China) and Genki Japanese and Culture School (Japan).
"The record number of nominations for IALC language schools reflects our standing in the language and study travel sector. Agents have recognised the strength of IALC as a quality-driven association by nominating us once again, and I’d like to thank all those who voted for us around the world," said Alexandra Borges de Sousa, IALC President and director of CIAL Centro de Linguas.
Two IALC partner agencies were also awarded LTM stars. These were Ryugaku Journal, Japan (awarded LTM Star Agency Asia) and ESL – Language Studies Abroad, Switzerland (awarded LTM Star Agency Western Europe).
