The English Language Company in Sydney has increased its student accommodation capacity to five houses (a total of 44 beds) and one of these houses has been reserved exclusively for female students. The house can accommodate up to nine women and will be available from 16 March 2011 onwards. This and the other new (mixed) student house are fully furnished and equipped to the same high standards as ELC’s existing student accommodation. They are also located on the same street, just a 10-minute walk from the school. ELC is already taking bookings for the new accommodation.
SWAP - Student Work Assistance Program
SWAP is a free service for all students on a working holiday or student visa. ELC students who would like to work part-time have the opportunity to meet with a SWAP coordinator every week. Support ranges from information on opening a bank account, applying for a Tax File Number or getting a SIM card to an overview of the current student jobs market and practical advice on how to apply for a job in Sydney. Students can also get their CVs and covering letters checked as well as practise for job interviews. Many students find this service invaluable when first starting to look for a job.
