English Language Center USA has a new junior English program in Massachusetts in summer 2013, complementing the ELC junior programs on the UCLA, UCSB and Wheelock College campuses.

The new junior program takes place at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on the banks of the Charles River. MIT is one of America’s leading centers of science and engineering and has more than 75 Nobel Prize-winning faculty members and alumni.

Since Boston is where the computer and biotech revolutions began, the new campus is the perfect environment for academically-driven students to focus on even more than learning English. The Junior Program at MIT will offer an optional science and technology activities calendar in addition to the sports and culture calendar offered at all ELC junior campus locations. The science and technology activities calendar will include a diverse choice of activities including lectures from technology professionals, visits to science and technology based museums and companies, trips to a planetarium, hands-on lessons in computer programming and more.

The junior programs on the MIT campus will operate from June 29 to August 10.

Other ELC junior program highlights in 2013 include the introduction of filmmaking at the UCLA junior program and the continuation of surf lessons at the UCSB junior program. These optional add-ons give students the chance to participate in activities that are unique to the location. The add-ons are in lieu of afternoon activities and additional charges apply.

ELC also now runs winter Junior Programs from January 5 to February 2 in three top city center locations - Los Angeles, Boston and Santa Barbara.
