New IALC member English in Chester won the Best Tourism Website 2006 category in the recent Visit Chester & Cheshire Annual Awards Ceremony. The award was presented by celebrity chef Nick Nairn at an “Oscar-style” gala dinner at Chester Racecourse.
Richard Day, the Principal of English in Chester, expressed his delight at winning the award: “We are a significant part of international tourism in the city and it is a real pleasure to win this award against such high profile opposition.”
English in Chester's website is designed by Nick Day, who has been working with his father throughout his undergraduate studies at Lancaster University. Nick's current project is the redesign of the English in the North website, which is soon to be launched.
