A new TECSOL course developed by the Dominion English School in Auckland, New Zealand, has been granted approval by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) and launched in May 2008. The course is designed for people wishing to teach kindergarten and primary school English and consists of 30 hours per week of training for a period of four weeks. The English level entry requirement is IELTS 5. Alternatively, students may take a special English entry test with Dominion. Michael Tan, the experienced TECSOL course teacher who has been appointed to run the course, is both primary- and ESOL-trained and has 10 years' teaching experience.

The 2008 course start dates are: 26 May, 23 June, 21 July, 18 August, 15 September, 13 October, 10 November, 8 December. A special course fee of NZ$ 1,600 is on offer to students signing up before the end of June 2008.
