After the 2013 IALC Workshop in Lisbon, 32 agents from 17 countries visited IALC schools across Spain and Portugal on three fam trips.
Some agents headed to Andalucía, after stopping for lunch by the sea and a visit to CIAL’s Portuguese language school in Faro. Highlights of the trip included a flamenco show in Seville hosted by Giralda Center, typical Andalusian gastronomy during the visit to Escuela de Idiomas, Nerja, and tapas in the historic centre of Malaga with the team from Malaca Instituto. As well as experiencing the local culture, agents had a tour of each school, its facilities and accommodation.
The second group left Lisbon for the Estudio Sampere’s schools in Salamanca and Madrid, before choosing between Barcelona or Valencia and Alicante. The Valencia group enjoyed a cultural trip to Ciudad de las Artes before visiting Taronja School, and Estudio Sampere in Alicante. The Barcelona group enjoyed the city for two nights and visited its two IALC accredited schools, ABC Humboldt and ESADE Executive Language Centre.
James Upton from Nelson English Centre in New Zealand also travelled to Barcelona after the workshop to spend a week at ESADE on a Spanish intensive programme, where he met the fam trip group. James will be welcoming agents to Nelson following the 2014 workshop in Brisbane as part of a fam trip to the South Island.
