On 25 March 2016, as the IALC 2017 Workshop in Boston came to an end, 22 agents and 2 companions departed on three fam-trips to IALC-accredited schools in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, Northampton and Toronto.
The Los Angeles and Santa Barbara fam-trip visited ELC centres in both cities. In Los Angeles, the party went on a UCLA campus tour, site of the ELC Summer Junior Program and ELC Summer Campus Program, as well as sightseeing and shopping in Beverly Hills and wine tasting at a local winery from the Santa Ynez Valley. They then departed for Santa Barbara to go on a tour of the city that included a trip to the Santa Barbara Courthouse and UCSB, a second site for the ELC Summer Junior Program.
Rimma Shakiryanova, director of Language For Life said: “The Boston workshop and fam-trip was wonderful! I am so happy that I had a chance to visit all the ELC centers in Boston, LA and Santa Barbara. It is very important experience for me, and I am sure for all Agents. We learnt a lot about all centers and I liked them all!”
The Northampton fam-trip took agents to visit the ILI school, where agents attended a University Pathways Partner Fair and a gourmet lunch was provided with university partners.
Tatiana Blinova, director at Anima Project said: “We highly rated the services, support and the whole atmosphere of the event. The institutions represented were so diverse and encouraging. ILI can be a great home from home for our students, starting from the wonderful town which it is set in and finishing with the great, caring staff of the school”.
The third fam-trip flew agents to Toronto, where the group visited the city, went on a shopping tour and had dinner at the CN tower. On day two, the agents travelled to the Global Village Toronto School, where the group were treated to the GV Toronto, Vancouver, Victoria and Hawaii experiences, before a visit to Niagra on the Lake, which involved wine tasting at Pellar Estates and dinner.
Torsten Pankok, managing director of Travel Works said: “It was just an amazing event organised by Global Village. We got a good picture of the language school and the programmes that GV offers and met all key staff at school. GV did a fantastic job to organise such a great fam-trip and I think all agents who joined took unforgettable memories back home”.
