IALC President: Kevin McNally, TIS, Torquay International School, IH Torquay
Kevin has been involved in the language travel industry for over 25 years. For many years, he was Director and Partner in Hampstead School of English, before taking up his current role as Owner and Director of Torquay International School. Kevin has experience in almost every aspect of the industry, from academic and student services, to finances and marketing. Having been involved with IALC since 1996, he has an intimate knowledge of the history of the association.
Vice President - Marketing: Blanca Roters, CLIC Sevilla, Cádiz & Malaga
Blanca Roters is the general manager of CLIC Seville, Cadiz, and Malaga. Founded in 1983, CLIC is one of the most reputable language schools locally, nationally, and internationally. Students of all ages come to the school to learn Spanish, English, French, German, Portuguese, and Italian.
With a degree in Business Communication and Public Relations, as well as an Executive MBA, Blanca is a prime example of language tourism. Having lived in Brazil, Australia, and Berlin, she now resides in Malaga. She worked in CLIC's Marketing Department for several years, taking on the role of General Manager since 2021.
Passionate about languages, gastronomy and travel, Blanca brings new energy to IALC.
Vice President - Membership: Justin Quinn, CES
Justin is the CEO of Centre of English Studies. CES has 8 year-round schools in Ireland, the UK and Canada, CES is also a major CELTA training centre in the UK and Ireland and also a IELTS / OET Test centre across 4 countries.
Justin has been involved in International Education for over 30 years and has served on the boards of ACELS, MEI and EAQUALS ( Chair for 6 years) & has been on the IALC membership committee for 10 years.
He is passionate about languages and introducing the positivity of global language exchange. Family, health, Irish & Leinster Rugby, sailing & playing 5 a side football keeps me busy in the rare hours that I am not busy.
Vice President - Quality Assurance: Hauke Tallon, The London School of English
Hauke has been the Chief Executive of The London School of English since 2012, though joined the business as Director of Sales & Marketing in 2002. Hauke began his working career in English language teaching in Japan in the early 1990s, but then worked in commercial roles across a number of sectors including the retail and automotive industries, before coming ‘home’ to the language learning sector.
Hauke is passionate about quality in all aspects of work and life, so working in the role of Vice President of Quality Assurance within IALC is both an honour and an opportunity to make a difference in a sector that exists to bring people together from across borders and cultures.
Treasurer: Alexandra Borges de Sousa, CIAL Centro de Linguas
Born in Lisbon, Portugal, Alexandra has a degree in International Relations as well as post graduate studies in this area. Her involvement in languages started early on, when she studied English, French and Spanish in the family’s school CIAL, a leading name for Portuguese as a Foreign Language since the early 1970s. Alexandra joined the school in 1991 after graduating. She also worked in the organisation of Expolingua Portugal, Portugal’s language fair, from 1989 to 1998. Since then, she has devoted herself full-time to CIAL. Alexandra served as IALC President from 2011 - 2014.
Company Secretary, Timothy Blake, The London School of English
Timothy Blake is the Chairman of The London School of English which has been a member of IALC since 2003. Although he originally qualified as a lawyer, Timothy has been in English language teaching all his life, always with The London School of English, which he joined in 1970.
During his time with the school he has worked in every aspect of the business including teaching, finance, and sales and marketing, all of which laid the foundation for general management. These days he has no operational role in the company and has only strategic involvement, although as the owner of the company he naturally retains a keen interest in its activities.
The London School of English has always been a committed member of IALC and Timothy was pleased to be able to use his joint background in law and in language teaching to help to revise the IALC Constitution and other legal documents. It was in recognition of this work that he was made an Honorary Associate in 2018.
