Melton College York celebrates 50th anniversary

Melton College in York is 50 years old in April 2013! The College, the oldest private English language school in the North of England, welcomed its first student in 1963.

Melton College was founded by Finn Hjort and his wife Elizabeth Hiley. The College is now run by their younger son, Andrew Hjort. The College has changed a great deal over the years but remains committed to quality and the advantages of a small, family-run school, and has a worldwide reputation for quality and a high level of personal service.
